Shea Butter (heavy oil)

 

It’s extracted from the scared Shea tree, this oil is a superfood for the skin and hair. It is powerful for renewal, repair and protection of the skin against aging and harsh climates. It has a large proportion of unsaturated fats such as essential fatty acids, phytosterols, vitamin E and D, provitamin A and allantoin making it a superb and rich emollient and moisturizer for the skin. It is an anti-inflammotory and antioxidant agent. Great for treating eczema, acne and blemishes, skin irritations such as razor bumps and reducing stretch marks.

Pomegranate Seed Oil

Often called ‘the divine fruit’, pomegranate is rich in antioxidants and polyphenols that give natural protection qualities, shielding the skin from UV and free-radical damage. The vitamin C in pomegranate oil helps to even skin tone and reverse the damage caused by sun exposure. It has regenerative properties and repairs skin, effectively reducing and preventing wrinkles in the epidermis. It has antimicrobial properties and is an effective anti-inflammatory agent. It has superior moisturizing ability, nourishing and softening skin.

Baobab Seed Oil

 

A native to South Africa, Baobab seed oil is derived from the seeds of the fruit that bloom on the Baobab tree—also known as the “tree of life” due to its nutrient dense fruit that provide nourishment during the dry season and whose trunk provide hydration as it stores gallons of water. Baobab seed oil is rich in nutrients. It contains Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, a high content of vitamins A, D, E &F, is non-toxic and safe to use on children and pregnant women and good for people suffering from eczema, sun spots, actinic keratosis and acne. It serves as a great skin moisturizer that won’t clog your pores but absorbs quickly into the skin and improves skin elasticity and encourages regeneration of skin cells.

Coconut Oil (light oil)

 

Coconut oil provides deep and real moisture. It is rich in fatty acids capric, caprylic, and lauric acids as well as Vitamin E. It’s a natural antibacterial and anti-fungal agent. It can speed up wound healing and is effective in increasing hydration and reducing water loss in seriously dry skin.

Aloe Vera

 

Aloe contains enzymes, antioxidants and Vitamins A and C. It has high levels of anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties and is good for treating acne (because of its ability to reduce skin inflammations), eczema and dry skin.

Carrot Root Extract

 

This gentle oil is known for its antibacterial and healing properties that are found to be capable of infusing moisture to dry skin, scalp and hair. The healing properties of carrot seed oil also allows it to soften up the skin tissues and helps to restore moisture that is lost from skin due to evaporation. Hence it is considered as an important ingredient in products used for the treatment of eczema and other skin-related issues.

Sweet Almond Oil

 

Almonds are packed with many health benefits. They are highly nutritious and rich in healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Sweet almonds are the variety that is used for cosmetics, amongst other things. It is a natural ingredient in skin and hair care. As a result of its high content of vitamin E and unsaturated fats, this mild and soothing oil is a great emollient that is beneficial for hydration as it helps to prevent water loss from the skin, hair and scalp. It can also help protect the skin from sun damage and premature aging as well as helping to prevent the spread of stretch marks. This oil is especially helpful for people suffering from dry and sensitive skin.

Peppermint Oil

Adding peppermint oil to body lotions and washes gives these products antiseptic and antimicrobial properties helping to cool skin. It also aids in oil secretion, which works to prevent acne.

Rooibos Extract

 

Rooibos is a herbal bush that grows in South Africa. It has quickly become the ultimate natural secret weapon that is enriched with an excellent antioxidant known as superoxide dismutase – promotes anti-aging and boosts the production of healthy skin cells. It also helps to reduce common skin disorders such as acne or eczema because of its deeply purifying and anti-bacterial properties.

Avocado oil is rich in fatty acids and is excellent for moisturizing the skin. In addition to vitamin E, avocado oil contains potassium, lecithin, and many other nutrients that can nourish and moisturize the skin. The antioxidants and vitamins in avocado oil may help to heal the dry, irritated, and flaky skin relieving inflammation from psoriasis and eczema. Avocado oil also has anti-inflammatory effects that can help reduce redness and the risk of acne. It also aids in wound healing by promoting collagen synthesis, which is the process of creating new connective tissue.

Jojoba Oil

 

Jojoba is a light golden liquid wax that is made from the jojoba bean. It mimics the body’s natural oils and can penetrate deep into the skin layers leaving it feeling supple, smooth and moisturized. Jojoba oil contains vitamins and minerals essential for healthy skin. It contains a balance of vitamins A, D, and E that are known as skin healing vitamins. Jojoba is naturally rich in Vitamin A, which is important for skin cell regeneration; rich in essential fatty acids omega 6 and 9 that help to regenerate skin cells and repair damaged skin tissue; naturally contains a saturated fatty acid known as docosenol that is an antiviral; and has powerful antioxidant properties that are able to penetrate down into the skin matrix as the wax ester of the Jojoba fills the gaps between skin cells, soothes and slows their metabolism and protects skin against accelerated skin aging.

Sunflower Seed Oil

 

First cultivated by the American Indian tribes in 3,000 B.C., the sunflower plant was used to help soothe snakebites and to condition the skin and hair. Today, it is effective for combating skincare issues like inflammation, irritation of the skin, general redness and acne because it’s a great source of vitamin E, rich in nutrients and antioxidants.  Sunflower oil has emollient properties that help the skin retain its moisture; its high concentration of Vitamin E helps protect the skin cells from harmful UV rays and other environmental stressors as well as trapping moisture inside the skin cells, keeping skin hydrated for longer periods; its rich in Vitamins A, C, and D making it effective in the treatment of acne—these antioxidants regenerate new skin cells and help your skin rid itself of acne-causing bacteria; also rich in beta-carotene—a fat soluble compound that can be converted into Vitamin A and is beneficial for the appearance of your health and skin. Sunflower oil is high in omega-6 (linoleic) fatty acid that helps decrease inflammation in the skin and enhances the development of new skin cells resulting in soothe and healed skin. Through its natural calming properties that improve the skin’s moisture retention capacity, sunflower oil is beneficial for dry skin and individuals with dehydrated or sensitive skin.

Squalane

 

Squalene is a fatty molecule produced by the human body and found in the skin. It is highly versatile, maintaining the skin's moisture barrier and hydration, and is also an antioxidant that has anti-aging properties for neutralizing environmental damage. However, the production of squalene starts to heavily decline in our 20s. Squalene is highly unstable and prone to oxidation. Squalane is produced from olives and is a more optimized skin-friendly version of squalene with a longer shelf life. Much like retinol, squalane is believed to fight free radicals in the skin that are caused by the sun’s UV rays. It is an emollient that seals in moisture while minimizing moisture loss. Many skin care experts and other medical professions assert that squalane has a number of positive effects on uneven skin pigmentation, scars, and age spots. When used in beauty products, it may fade these marks over time because of the oil’s ability to sink deep into the skin and repair it.

Lavender Oil

 

Lavender offers numerous benefits: anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antidepressant, and antiseptic properties. It aids in treating skin issues like acne, psoriasis, and wrinkles, as well as healing scars, cuts, and burns.
