The woman behind it all
In 2013, Mulanga Muofhe returned home to South Africa after 21 years abroad. She was 33. She wasn't sure she'd fit in — even in the country where she was born. And then her body said what she couldn't yet put into words.
A first-time eczema diagnosis, pharmacy shelves full of products that had nothing to do with the continent they sat on, and a quiet question that wouldn't leave: why aren't we making this ourselves?
She went to school — a Master's in Public Health specialising in International Public Health, and an MBA. She went back to African botanicals. And she built what should have already existed.
Mulanga Muofhe is the founder and sole creator of Mulanga Naturals and Mulanga Well. She has served on the Alumni Board of NYU's School of Global Public Health, been featured in conversation on beauty, femicide, and social innovation through the South African lens, and was recruited by Amazon South Africa as part of their market launch cohort.
She has been building this since 2016. Quietly, carefully, and entirely on her own terms.
