Summer Ripening

A 3-day summer immersion at Farmhouse58, in the Cradle of Humankind.

What to Expect

Radical permission to ripen all the way through

Summer Ripening is built around one principle: aliveness, unhurried. Our guests are educated, high-performing individuals — people who live in cities, move fast, and rarely stop. This retreat offers them something they cannot find anywhere else: long mornings, warm light, and food at its most abundant, held in one of the most significant landscapes on earth.

The retreat opens with scent and closes with a table set for the season's best. It moves between movement and stillness, between body and water, between the farm and the horizon. Every element has intention. Nothing is filler.

Scenic landscape with rolling green hills, a small pond, and a cloudy blue sky.
Woman practicing yoga or meditation indoors, sitting cross-legged with one hand raised.
Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
A garden with a brick oven in the background, partially hidden by green trees and plants, with two potted plants on a wooden ledge in the foreground.

THE GUEST JOURNEY

Day One — Friday

Arrive, unhurried

Tea, scent, and the first exhale

You arrive not to a check-in desk but to a welcome: met at the gate, then up to the farm for a hand-washing ceremony that marks the beginning of something different. The afternoon moves gently, with a walk to forage botanicals from the land, then a Tea & Scent(s) Pairing drawn from what you gathered. By the time you sit down to dinner, you will already feel it. The shift has begun.

A woman with a dark skin tone, black hair, and tattoos, wearing a light gray sports bra and matching leggings, striking a yoga pose against a plain cream-colored background.
Day Two - Saturday

Move, restore, gather

Qi Gong, heat and cold, and a table set for gold

Morning begins with Qi Gong on the lawn, gentle and beginner-friendly, followed by a nourishing breakfast and a massage. Lunch is laid out by the water. In the afternoon, sauna and ice bath: heat, then cold, then the particular quiet that follows. As the light turns gold, the long table is set for a summer menu with an anti-inflammatory thread running through it. One evening, one season’s best food.

A rustic living room with a wooden ceiling, beige carpet, a built-in fireplace with a fire, and furniture including a sofa, armchair, and coffee tables with plants. There are logs stacked beside the fireplace and a window showing trees outside.
Day Three - Sunday

Leave, renewed

Sound, oil, and departure

The last morning begins in the Shala with a sound journey, then breakfast together, no agenda, no rush toward the door. The retreat closes as it opened, with ceremony. This time it’s hands anointed in SkinTone+, and you leave the way you arrived: as yourself, only slower, only fuller.
